Motivating Your Team

Masterclass 3 - Workbook 1

The workbook emphasises that coaches themselves – through their personality and actions – can be a key motivator or de-motivator. It is vital that all the significant people surrounding the team are motivating forces.

Coaches are advised to focus both on task motivation – challenging their team with a programme of work that leads to excellence and success – and ego motivation – constantly reminding their players of their progress, achievements and especially how much they are needed and valued.

This workbook looks at a concept for the future – a ‘happiness-centred’ club where motivation is guaranteed because of the structure of care and concern for the players and team.
